Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information liturgyribbons.com collects, why, and what choices you have. The site is a free daily guide for placing the ribbons in the Liturgy of the Hours.
What we collect
If you sign up for our seasonal email, we collect the email address you provide. That is the only information the signup form asks for.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics may collect information about pages viewed, browser and device characteristics, approximate location, cookies or similar identifiers, and interactions with the site. We use reporting from this service to improve the guide and do not knowingly send Google Analytics information that directly identifies you.
Analytics is switched off until you allow it. When you first visit, the guide asks once. Until you choose Allow analytics, Google’s analytics storage is set to denied. You can change your answer at any time through the Privacy settings link in the guide’s footer, and that choice applies across every page of this site, including this one.
How we use it
Your email address is used only to send the occasional seasonal update you signed up for, a few times a year. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
Who else is involved
We use MailerLite to manage the email list and send messages. Your email address is stored there so that we can send the updates you requested and honor unsubscribe requests.
We use Google Analytics to measure traffic, subject to the choice described above.
This site is hosted by GoDaddy. Like any web host, GoDaddy processes the ordinary server records needed to serve pages, such as IP address, request time, and the page requested. GoDaddy may also add its own performance-monitoring script to pages it serves. That script is theirs rather than ours, it is not part of the guide, and it is covered by GoDaddy’s privacy policy rather than this one.
Each provider processes information under its own privacy terms.
Cookies
The guide itself stores two small preferences in your browser: which ribbon layout you chose, and your answer to the analytics question. These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and can be cleared through your browser settings.
Google Analytics, when you have allowed it, uses first-party cookies and similar technologies to distinguish visits and measure use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the guide will still work normally. You may also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Your choices
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email us to ask what personal information we hold about you or to request that it be deleted. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
